# How to create an AI product video

> To create an AI product video, pick one product and one benefit, and show the product in use by the person it is for. In GetReelCom you save the product once, write the moment of use, and a ten-second scene costs 11 credits.

## What a good product video shows

A product video shows what one product does for one buyer. It is not a feature list. A good one meets five criteria.

- **One product.** A range needs one video per product, because a shared video sells none of them.
- **One benefit.** Choose the benefit your buyer cares about most and leave the rest for the product page.
- **A moment of use.** The product is in someone's hands, or on someone's screen, when it solves the problem.
- **The right user.** The person on screen looks like the buyer or the buyer's colleague.
- **A fair picture.** The product on screen matches the real one closely enough that a buyer is not misled.

## Physical product, software or service: what to show

Most advice on AI product video assumes an object you can photograph. B2B products are often software or a service, and those need a different picture.

| Your product is | Show this | The benefit is carried by |
|---|---|---|
| A physical product | The product in use, close enough to recognise | The user's hands and the result |
| A machine or installation | The operator and the output, with the machine in its setting | The finished work |
| Software | The user at the moment the task gets easy, with the screen in view | The user's reaction and the narration |
| A service | The customer before and after, with your colleague present | The change in the customer's situation |

Software and services cannot carry a video alone. The person and the situation carry it, and the product appears as the thing that changes the situation.

## How to make it, step by step

These steps apply to any AI video tool. The labels in brackets are where each one happens in GetReelCom.

1. Save the product with its facts. (Open Products and fill in In short, Key benefits, Features and Used for.)
2. Describe what the product looks like. (GetReelCom draws the product from its name and its In short text, so put shape, colour and material there.)
3. Choose the buyer. (Pick the audience under "Who is it for?" when more than one is saved.)
4. Choose the product. (Under "Which product or service is it about?", select it. With one product saved, it is used automatically.)
5. Choose who uses it on screen. (Select an Audience persona or a customer-facing colleague under "Who is in it?".)
6. Write the moment of use. ("What should happen?" says who does what with the product, and where. About 25 words of narration state the benefit.)
7. Check the product in the still. ("Save & draw the frame" costs 1 credit. If the product looks wrong, say what to change and redraw.)
8. Generate the scene. ("Looks good, make the video" costs 10 credits.)

GetReelCom allows one product per video. The selection rules are in [Set up a new video](/help/videos/set-up-a-new-video/) and the fields in [Products and services](/help/company-story/products-and-services/).

## A worked example

_[Video: A product scene for software: the people are in front, and the product is the plan taking shape on the screen behind them. — /park/tri/desk.mp4]_

The clip above is the product scene of a video for Triagen, which makes return-to-work software. Software has no shape to film. The scene therefore shows the check-in conversation the product supports. The return-to-work plan takes shape on the screen behind the people at the table, and the mascot Tri guides the talk.

The scene follows the five criteria. It shows one product and one benefit: a clear next step. It shows a moment of use, and the people on screen are the people the product is for.

Note the screen. It shows cards and check marks, and no readable text. GetReelCom draws interfaces as clean layouts without lettering, because small generated text comes out misspelled.

For a physical product, the same scene would bring the product forward. A supplier of espresso machines would write this scene text: "Noor, a café owner, pulls the first espresso of the morning from the machine on her counter." The narration would then state the benefit in one sentence.

## Which tool fits which product video

| You need | Kind of tool | What comes out |
|---|---|---|
| A short clip of a product photo in motion | Image-to-video generators | The photo animated for a few seconds, for shop listings and ads |
| A presenter talking about the product | Avatar tools, such as Synthesia or HeyGen | A digital presenter reading your script |
| The product in a scene with your people and place | GetReelCom | A ten-second animated scene with voice-over, in your brand colours |
| Real footage of the product working | A film crew | A recording, with a production budget and lead time |

The first row suits webshops, where the exact look of the object sells it. The third row suits B2B companies that sell to a person with a problem. The difference is explained in [How to make an AI video from your own product photos](/guides/ai-video-with-your-own-product-images/).

## What the product will and will not look like

GetReelCom draws the product from your written description, in a cinematic 3D animation style. It does not copy a product photo into the scene. The result is a fair likeness of a well-described product, not a photograph of it.

Two limits follow from that.

- **No text or logos.** Scenes contain no lettering, so labels, packaging print and brand marks on the product are left blank. Add your logo in your own editor.
- **No exact mechanism.** A precise technical detail, such as a connector or a control panel, may be simplified.

If buyers must see the exact product, combine the two routes. Use a filmed or photographed product shot for the detail, and a generated scene for the story around it.

## Cost and time

One product scene costs 11 credits in GetReelCom: 1 for the frame and 10 for the ten seconds of video. That is about €5 on Starter and about €4 on Studio. A new account has 40 free credits, which is enough for three product scenes.

A 30-second product video is three scenes and 33 credits. Each redraw of a frame adds 1 credit. A range of five products, with one scene each, costs 55 credits.

A frame renders in about 30 seconds and a scene in about a minute. The time goes into the product's saved facts and the scene text, and both are free to edit.

## Common mistakes

- **Listing features.** Ten seconds hold one benefit. Put the specifications on the product page.
- **Leaving the description vague.** "Our flagship solution" draws nothing. "A matte black espresso machine with two silver handles" does.
- **Showing the product alone.** A product on a plain background is a photo. Put it in a buyer's hands.
- **Deciding the format last.** The format is fixed once the frame is drawn. Choose Portrait (9:16) for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, and Landscape (16:9) for the product page.
- **Expecting readable labels.** Scenes have no on-screen text. Say the product name in the narration instead.

## Frequently asked questions

### How long should an AI product video be?

Ten to thirty seconds. One ten-second scene is enough for one benefit on social media or in an ad. A 30-second video of three scenes suits a product page: the problem, the product in use and the result.

### Can AI make a product video from one photo?

Image-to-video tools can: they animate the photo itself for a few seconds. GetReelCom works differently. It draws the product into a scene from its written description, and the product's Photo URL is only shown on its card. Describe shape, colour and material in the In short field.

### Can I make an AI product video for software or a service?

Yes. Show the user and the situation instead of the product alone. For software, put the screen in view at the moment the task gets easy. For a service, show the customer with your colleague. In GetReelCom the Kind field labels an item as Product or Service, and both work the same way.

### Can I use an AI product video in ads?

Yes. In GetReelCom the rights in your output are assigned to you for any lawful business purpose. You remain responsible for the accuracy of every claim and for advertising rules where the ad runs. Free-plan videos carry a watermark, so use a paid plan for ads.

### How much does an AI product video cost?

One ten-second product scene costs 11 credits in GetReelCom, which is about €4 to €5 on a paid plan. A 30-second product video costs 33 credits, or about €12 to €15. The first 40 credits are free and need no card.
