# What is your Director's Guide?

> Your Director's Guide is the project-wide information every video starts from, the Brand, Products, Audience, Characters and Venues tabs. Set it once, review it, and each new video reuses it by default.

## What is the Director's Guide?

Your Director's Guide is everything GetReelCom knows about your company, saved once per project and reused by every video: company information and branding, your target audiences, your products and services, your venues and your characters. In the app it lives in five tabs in the left sidebar: Brand, Products, Audience, Characters and Venues.

Setting it up and editing it does not use credits.

## Why is the Director's Guide important?

It is the shared foundation every video is generated from. Instead of re-explaining your company, colours, audience and cast for each video, you set them once and every new scene starts from the same story, in the same colours, with the same faces.

## What information is included in the Director's Guide?

- **Brand**: name, website, language, short and long description, mission, history, brand values, sector, company stage, employees, locations, three colours, a logo link and a style reference image.
- **Audience**: one primary audience and any number of secondary ones.
- **Products**: one primary product or service and any others.
- **Venues**: one primary venue and any others.
- **Characters**: team members and audience personas.

Image links are not a separate tab; they are Photo URL, Logo URL and Style reference URL fields inside these tabs. See [Add an image URL](/help/images/add-an-image-url/).

## How does the Director's Guide keep videos consistent?

Because every video is written from the same saved description, colours, audience, cast and venues, the tone, the facts and the look stay the same from scene to scene instead of being reinvented each time. A character keeps the same face once you generate an avatar for them (1 credit); without one, the AI draws them from their description each time and the face can differ.

## Can I edit the Director's Guide later?

Yes, at any time. Every field in the five tabs stays editable after your first video, and changes save as you type.

## What happens when I change information in the Director's Guide?

The change is saved immediately and used by the next video you write. Videos you already generated do not change: videos are generated once, and to change any of this you create a new video.

## Which information should I approve before generating a script?

At minimum: the Brand description, colours and logo; the primary product or service if the video is about one; the primary audience; and the characters you plan to cast, including whether they have an avatar yet. These directly shape both the written scene and the visuals. The Overview checklist walks you through exactly these.
