Character avatars
An avatar is the one AI-drawn portrait a character keeps in every video, generated from their name, role, description and photo for 1 credit. Every video uses one cinematic 3D style; there is no realistic mode.
What is an animated character in GetReelCom?
A character with a generated avatar: one AI-drawn portrait, in the same cinematic 3D style as your videos, created from the character’s Name, Role, Description and Photo URL. The avatar is the face GetReelCom draws that character with in every video, so they look like the same person each time.
When should I create an avatar for a character?
As soon as you plan to use that character in more than one video. Without an avatar, the Overview warns that the AI draws them differently in every video.
During a website import, avatars are drawn automatically for up to three team members found with a photo, as credits allow.
How is a character converted into an avatar?
Clicking Generate avatar sends the character’s Name, Role, Description and Photo URL, if there is one, to image generation, which returns one portrait. With a photo, the avatar is drawn to resemble the real person; without one, a face is invented from the description.
How many credits does creating an avatar use?
One credit per generation or regeneration.
Can I choose between realistic and animated visuals?
No. Every video, and every avatar, uses one cinematic 3D animation style. You steer the look with the Style reference URL on the Brand tab, not with a realism switch.
Can I customize the animation style?
Not from a style menu. You influence the result through the character’s Description and their Always and Never rules (for example “always wear a navy blazer”, “never hold a phone”), and project-wide through the Style reference URL on the Brand tab.
Can I create more than one avatar for a character?
No. Regenerate replaces the current avatar; there is no gallery of alternatives. If you want two looks, create two characters.
Can I regenerate an avatar?
Yes. Open the character, click Edit, then Regenerate next to the portrait. It costs 1 credit and replaces the current avatar in videos you make afterwards; finished videos do not change.
How do I keep an avatar recognizable?
Generate it once, then leave it alone. Keep the character’s Name, Role and Description stable, and do not regenerate once you are happy.
Can I use a real customer as a character?
Yes: add them as a Team member with their real Photo URL and generate the avatar, provided you have their demonstrable consent as the Terms of Service require. See Characters.
