Making a video
Setting up a video, writing the scene, the preview frame, avatars, generating, formats, downloading.
- Set up a new video
Click "New video" in a project, choose who is in it, and, when your project has more than one saved, which audience, product and venue. Pick Landscape or Portrait, write the scene, and draw the frame.
- Write the scene and narration
A video is written in two fields on the New video screen, "What should happen?" and "Narration". "Suggest a video" drafts both. Editing is free until you draw the frame; a finished video's text is locked.
- The preview frame
The preview frame is one still image drawn from your scene before the video is made. It costs 1 credit, takes about 30 seconds, and you can redraw it as often as you like. The video is only made from a frame you approved.
- Character avatars
An avatar is the one AI-drawn portrait a character keeps in every video, generated from their name, role, description and photo for 1 credit. Every video uses one cinematic 3D style; there is no realistic mode.
- Generate the video
Once you approve the preview frame, "Looks good, make the video" renders the ten-second clip from it in about a minute, for 10 credits. A finished video cannot be edited or re-rolled; a failed one costs nothing.
- Landscape or portrait
GetReelCom makes videos in Landscape (16:9, for web and YouTube) or Portrait (9:16, for Reels, TikTok and Shorts). Choose before the frame is drawn; the format is fixed afterwards. There is no 4:3.
- Download and use your video
Open a finished video and click "Download video" to get the MP4. There is no share button yet. You own the output and can use it for any lawful business purpose; on the Free plan it carries a GetReelCom watermark.
