How much does an AI video cost?
In GetReelCom a 30-second AI company video costs 33 credits: free for your first one, then about €12 to €15 on a paid plan. A filmed company video from an agency usually starts around €3,000.
The short answer, in three price levels
An AI video has three possible price tags, and they differ by a factor of a hundred. The difference is who does the work.
| Route | Typical price | What you pay for |
|---|---|---|
| You make it in an AI video tool | €0 to about €60 a month | A subscription or credits, plus your own time |
| A team produces it for you with AI | $315 to $750 per finished minute | Generation, selection, editing and sound |
| A crew films it | €3,000 to €15,000 per video | Script, shoot day, crew and editing |
The first row is the list price of self-serve tools. GetReelCom is free to start and €29.95 or €59.95 a month after that. Synthesia and HeyGen both start at $29 a month; the tool comparison has the details.
The second row comes from InVideo, which documented the cost of four finished AI productions in 2025. The third row is what Dutch price guides report for a filmed company video in 2026.
A fair answer therefore depends on which job you are pricing. This guide prices the first route in detail, because its numbers are exact.
What a good cost estimate includes
A useful price is the price of a finished video, not of one generation. Four things belong in the estimate.
- Every attempt, not only the one you keep. Generated video rarely lands first time. One production InVideo documented generated 164 clips to keep 41.
- The length you need. Tools charge per credit, per minute or per month. Convert each one to the video you want before you compare.
- What the tool leaves to you. Cutting scenes together, music and subtitles are included in some tools and extra work in others.
- Your own hours. A €30 subscription is not cheap if the video takes two working days.
What a company video costs in GetReelCom
GetReelCom charges per generation, in credits, and every price is fixed. A company video is built from ten-second scenes.
| Step | Credits |
|---|---|
| Reading your website, editing text, downloading | 0 |
| Preview frame, or a redraw of it | 1 |
| Ten-second scene from an approved frame | 10 |
| One finished scene | 11 |
| A 30-second company video (three scenes) | 33 |
| Character avatar or venue image | 1 each |
| Failed generation | 0 |
In the app, each ten-second scene is called a video. The full rules are in How credits work.
The plans turn those credits into euros. Prices exclude VAT.
| Plan | Price | Credits | 30-second videos | Per 30-second video | Per finished minute |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0, no card | 40, one-time | 1 | €0, with a watermark | not applicable |
| Starter | €29.95 a month | 66 a month | about 2 | about €15 | about €30 |
| Studio | €59.95 a month | 165 a month | about 5 | about €12 | about €24 |
| Agency | volume pricing, invoiced | 200 or more | as needed | on request | on request |
Free-plan videos carry a GetReelCom watermark, and paid plans download clean video. Unused paid credits stay valid for one extra month. Current prices are on the pricing page.
A worked example: one 30-second video, budgeted
The clip above is the last scene of a 30-second video for Triagen, a return-to-work software company. The video has three scenes: the problem, the solution and the result. All three are on the examples page.
Here is what a video like it costs, first with no retries and then with a realistic number of them.
| Item | Best case | Realistic |
|---|---|---|
| Three preview frames | 3 credits | 3 credits |
| Frame redraws | 0 | 4 credits |
| Three scenes animated | 30 credits | 30 credits |
| Avatars for two recurring characters | 0 | 2 credits |
| Total | 33 credits | 39 credits |
| On Starter | about €15 | about €18 |
| On Studio | about €12 | about €14 |
Both totals fit inside the 40 free credits, so a first video costs nothing. The realistic column is an assumption, not a measurement. Some scenes are right first time, and some take three redraws.
Redraws are cheap on purpose. A redraw costs 1 credit and changes the still frame only. The expensive step, 10 credits of motion, runs on a frame you approved.
AI video compared with a film crew and an animation studio
| AI video you make yourself | Filmed by a production company | Animated by a studio | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | €0 to about €15 per 30 seconds in GetReelCom | €3,000 to €15,000 per video in the Netherlands; £2,000 to £6,000 in the UK | $5,000 to $15,000 for 60 seconds |
| Lead time | Minutes of rendering, plus your review | Two to eight weeks | About seven weeks |
| Price of a change | 1 credit for a frame, 11 for a new scene | A new edit, sometimes a reshoot | A revision round |
| What you get | Animated scenes based on your photos | Real footage of your people and premises | A bespoke film in a drawn style |
The filmed figures come from Searchlab and Videobrouwerij for the Netherlands and from Aether Agency for the UK. American guides quote per minute: Vidico puts a finished minute at $1,000 to $5,000. The studio figures are from Yum Yum Videos and Vidico.
The gap is large, but the products differ. A film crew records the real thing, and no AI tool does that. The full comparison is in AI video vs traditional video production. For studios, see GetReelCom vs hiring an animation studio.
How long it takes
Rendering takes minutes. Reading a website takes about half a minute, a preview frame about 30 seconds and a scene about a minute. Three scenes are therefore about five minutes of waiting in total.
Your own time is the larger part. You review the drafted Director’s Guide once, then write or accept each scene text and judge each frame. Finally, you cut the three downloaded scenes together in your own editor, because GetReelCom has no timeline.
Common mistakes when budgeting
- Comparing a monthly price with a per-video price. Convert every tool to the cost of the video you need.
- Forgetting the retries. Budget one or two redraws per scene. In GetReelCom a redraw is 1 credit, not a full regeneration.
- Generating before the inputs are right. A vague product description or a character without an avatar costs redraws. Fix your Director’s Guide first, because editing text is free.
- Pricing the wrong job. If the video must show your real factory in motion, no AI price is relevant. Ask for a filming quote.
- Ignoring the watermark. A free video is a real test, but it carries a watermark. Plan one paid month before you publish.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a 30-second AI video cost?
In GetReelCom a 30-second company video costs 33 credits: three scenes of 11 credits each. That is free within the 40 starting credits, about €15 on Starter and about €12 on Studio. Add 1 credit for every frame you redraw.
What does AI video cost per minute?
A finished minute in GetReelCom is six scenes, or 66 credits. That is about €30 on Starter and about €24 on Studio, before redraws. Productions made for you cost far more per minute, because the price includes selection, editing and sound. InVideo documented $315 to $750.
Is AI video cheaper than hiring a production company?
Yes, by a wide margin, but it is a different product. Dutch agencies usually charge €3,000 or more for a filmed company video. A 30-second AI video costs about €12 to €15 in GetReelCom. The filmed video shows real people and places, while the AI video is animation based on your photos.
Do failed generations or rejected frames cost money?
A failed generation costs nothing in GetReelCom. Credits are held while a generation runs and released when it fails. A frame you reject did succeed, so it cost its 1 credit, and each redraw costs 1 more.
Can I make an AI company video for free?
Yes. A new GetReelCom account has 40 credits with no card, and they never expire. That covers one 30-second company video plus a few avatars and redraws. The free video carries a GetReelCom watermark, which a paid plan removes.
What is not included in the price of an AI video?
Your own time, and anything the tool does not do. GetReelCom includes the voice-over and subtitles in each scene. It does not include music or a timeline editor, so you cut the scenes into one file in your own editor.
